South Interlake Emergency Measures to disband
In 2002, the RMs of Armstrong, Rosser, Woodlands and Rockwood, along with the town of Teulon joined together for the purpose of sharing resources for emergency response and planning. At this time, the South Interlake Emergency Measures Board was formed.
After 14 years, it was felt that the extremely large area covered by the board had become unwieldy. As a result, the board has agreed to disband effective December 31, 2016.
At this time, the individual members of the board are considering their options for providing a more effective method of providing emergency services to their regions.
South Interlake Emergency Measures will carry on as usual until a new model for the south Interlake region is established
